Update: Against widespread reports,  Buhari’s jet still in London

Contrary to widespread rumours that the presidential jet had left London to an undisclosed locations,  recent reports emerging claims the aircraft is stationed at Standsted airport in London. The plane has not moved since May 8 as reported by Sahara reporters

Trybalnation had earlier reported a vanguard report that the plane had left London to an undisclosed location on August 1 and had caused panic in the presidential villa.

The Presidency denied having awareness of the development as both media aides to the president, Femi Adesina and Garba Lawal claimed such news should be regarded as a rumour

Mr Adesina who denied knowledge of the development according to Vanguard said:“BBC also called me and said the president’s aircraft had taken off, I should confirm it. I said the tradition is that if the president is coming, we will be asked to issue a statement but there has been no such instruction.”

Vanguard however submitted that “as at the time of filing this report late Tuesday night, there was no confirmation to the effect that the presidential aircraft had left London and there was no movement within the Presidential Villa to support the rumour.”

According to widespread reports online, it costs a whooping £4000 every 24 hours to use a parking lot. This has raised concerned in the minds of Nigerians as to why the aircraft is ‘waiting’ for the president to get well.
