SYRIAN migrants have caused outrage after they allegedly tried to sell their baby daughter on e-bay for €5,000.
Employees spotted the suspicious ad after it had been live for around 30 minutes
An advert was listed on the online shopping website offering the 40-day-old girl to random bidders.
The seller, who used the name ‘refrigerator’, posted on Tuesday in broken German: “He is a small child, the 40 days old named Maria, who sell me more.”
Employees spotted the suspicious ad after it had been live for around 30 minutes, blocked it and phoned the police.
A spokesman said: “There is no room for abominable offers such as these.
”We therefore support the police in their efforts to determine the author of this ad and have handed them all available information for this purpose.”
Police in the German city of Duisburg immediately tracked down the parents of the girl, who they later identified as Syrian.

They determined that Maria, while healthy, was the same girl from the photos.
Officers searched the apartment of the migrant family, where the 28-year-old father and 20-year-old mother lived with some other family members.
They confirmed the internet connection matched the one which placed the ad, but the parents maintain it was not them who posted the ad selling their only child.
